Mongolia's Geography
In Mongolia, the northern and western regions are very mountainous, while the southern region is taken up by the Gobi Desert. Major freshwater lakes in Asia include Mongolia's Lake Khovsgol. Mongolia's geography causes it's citizens to struggle because it is a landlocked country. A landlocked country is a country where a country is surrounded by almost or entirely by land. The nearest ocean to Mongolia is approximately 645 kilometers away. This results in difficulty of trade, and this leads to delayed development and struggles of access to world markets.
